In late 2013, my sister, Hannah, was expecting her first child. Her husband was stationed at a military base in Oahu, and Hannah had recently moved their entire life from Alabama to the North Shore of Hawaii. Due to conflicting schedules and geography, I wasn't able to attend her baby shower or the birth of my nephew. Feeling awful that I couldn't be there in person when my sister needed me the most, I scoured the internet to find something extra special to send her for the delivery. This wouldn't just be a present for the baby, this would be a present for her. Unable to find any kind of gift box for new moms, I set out to make my own. I added magazines, lip balm, snacks, slippers, a robe, and probably a lot of other things she never really needed (not having any children of my own, I wasn't totally sure what to send). As upset as I was that I couldn't be there in person, I knew I made an impact when a giant box arrived a few days before her baby shower.

Years later when I had my own first child, I went through the painstaking process of trying to find the best products in a million different baby categories. It made me realize the need for an online shopping experience where anyone-- whether they have their own kids or know nothing about babies-- can send an amazing gift to celebrate a new life. We take the pressure off the user by finding the best companies and curating their products into special gift boxes.

And we take special pride in our gifts for new moms or newly expecting moms. So often, the focus is on the new baby instead of the mother. With our boxes, we pamper the moms as a way of showing our love, and acknowledging what she goes through to form a new life.
